Involved in Umesh Pal Murder Case

Umesh Pal, a lawyer by profession, was murdered on 24 February 2023. During this, the miscreants also killed two security personnel along with him. This incident was recorded in the nearby CCTV cameras. Umesh Pal was the main witness in the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005, but the CBI probing the case did not make Umesh Pal a witness in its investigation.

As soon as Umesh Pal reached near his house on the evening of 24 February, the miscreants first opened fire on his car. After that when he ran towards the house with his gunner, the miscreants hurled two bombs at him. All three were immediately taken to the hospital where Umesh Pal and his gunner Sandeep Mishra died during treatment. Later second gunner Raghvendra Singh died during treatment in Lucknow.

Police have registered a case against 18 including Atiq Ahmed, his wife Shaista Parveen, his brother and former MLA Ashraf, son Asad. These include Asad (killed in the encounter), Sadaqat, Armaan, Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman (killed in the encounter), Arbaz (killed in the encounter), Sabir, Kais Ahmed (driver, currently in jail), Rakesh (weapons and money recovered Arshad Katra, Niyaz (who did Reiki), Iqbal Ahmed (accused of doing Reiki), Shahrukh, (Ateeq’s servant who has been sent to jail), Dr. Akhlaq and his wife (Ateeq’s sister and brother-in-law too) Are included. Apart from this, the other four sons of many Atiq and some unknown people were also named in the FIR

Death/Encounter

On 13 April 2023, Asad Ahmed was killed in an encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) near the Pariksha Dam in Jhansi.  Asad and Ghulam, both accused in the case carried a reward of Rs. 5 lakh each for Umesh Pal’s murder. A a British Bulldog Revolver .455 bore and Walther P88 7.63 bore pistol were also recovered from them.
