Sunil Lahri made his acting debut in 1980 with the Hindi film “The Naxalites” in which he played the role of ‘Anand Kumar Ganguly’. In this film, he got a Small roll next to Hero Mithun Chakraborty-Smita Patil. However, the film did not run at the box office.
In 1985, nearly 5 years after “The Naxalites” film flopped, he played the lead role of ‘Sunil’ in the Hindi film “Phir Aayee Barsat”. But the film was also a flop, but the film song “Dekho Yeh Chokri” became a big hit.
In 1985, he appeared in the DD National TV show “Vikram Aur Betaal”. This TV show was produced by Ramanand Sagar. After starring in a few episodes of Ramananda Sagar’s ‘Bikram Aur Betal’, Sunil Lahri was also seen in Moti Sagar’s tv show ‘Dada-Dadi Ki Kahaniya’.
In 1987, he played the lead role of “Laxman” in the DD National TV show “Ramayan”. This TV show was produced by Ramanand Sagar.
In 1988, he played the lead of “Second Lieutenant Rama Raghoba Rane” in the DD National TV show “Param Veer Chakra”. This TV show was directed by Chetan Anand.
