Why did you apply to be on this new series of Big Brother?
I’m in a bit of an in-between phase right now – I’ve recently left the corporate world and have a looser schedule while I get qualified and build my business. So, it felt like a “why not?” situation. I’m also really curious to see how my social battery holds up in the house, because it rarely runs out!
Being trans, I think a lot of the media narrative around us is often taken out of our hands, so this feels like a way to re-centre that and show a more authentic version of who we are. Big Brother lets people see the normality of everyday life – you can’t get more personal than being filmed 24/7.

What do you think you’ll bring to the House?
I’m a really energetic person – which is both my strength and my weakness. Without access to the gym, I might become a little unbearable, because that’s usually how I channel my energy. I’m very social and love organising people, rounding everyone up, and doing things as a group. I’ll definitely throw myself into the tasks and bring enthusiasm and teamwork to the mix.

What are you looking forward to the most about being a Housemate?
I’ve set myself one main goal: to make at least one really good friend in the House. I’m looking forward to connecting with people from completely different walks of life and learning from them. And honestly, I’m excited for the tasks – I think they’ll be a lot of fun.

Do you have a strategy for making it to the final?
Not really – I have more of a strategy for coping. I know that people often forget about the cameras after a while, and I hope I do too. My goal is to not hold my personality back out of fear of saying or doing the wrong thing. Of course, I’d love to win, but I don’t have a specific game plan beyond being myself.

What are you most likely to get nominated for?
Probably being too opinionated – though I always prefer to talk things out rather than argue. Also, food! If I’m hungry, I can get very hangry, and I imagine that could rub people the wrong way at times.

Tell us one thing about yourself you think will surprise people the most.
That I’m trans. It often surprises people because I have quite a few stereotypically masculine traits – I’m a personal trainer, I love the gym – but I also have a strong feminine side. I think that balance shows in how I connect with people and carry myself.

What would you do with the money if you won?
I’d invest it into my business, which focuses on training LGBT people and women. And, on a more personal note, I’d take my girlfriend on a really lovely holiday to make up for leaving her while I’m in the Big Brother House!
