In 2007, she started her career as a news anchor in the news channel “Live India”. In September 2008, she resigned from the news channel “Live India”. And then she joined with the “News 24” as an anchor and senior correspondent. After some time, she got a job offer from “Zee News” and started working for Zee News.

She hosted the debate show “Taal Thok Ke” in ZEE News. The show became very popular, after which Rubika Liyaquat got a chance to work as Senior Anchor and Editor.
In August 2018, Rubika Liyaquat resigned from Zee News and joined ABP News Network. In ABP News, she started hosting the primetime show “Master Stroke”. This show timing was every Monday to Friday at 9 pm.

On 23 May 2019, she shared a photo, opening Rosa on her Twitter account. Which was heavily criticized by radical Islamists.
However, the journalist gave a befitting reply to the Islamic fundamentalists in her own style. She came out stating that unlike some, she had been working in the studio and not resting at home in the name of fasting.

Liyaquat hit back at the troll for attacking her for an old picture with her Rakhi brother reminding the radical Islamists that this is India and not the Taliban. The handle that abused her later deleted the tweet.
